37th edition of Concertino Praga is approaching its climax: winners and laureates - chamber ensembles from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany and Latvia are on their way to Prague and Southern Bohemia to take part in a series of concerts there.

The first one takes place in a famous concert hall Rudolfinum, Prague, on 21st June and will be transmitted live by Czech TV cultural Channel 2 and Czech Radio 3 - Vltava as well as - in the framework of the EBU European Summer Season - by a number of public radio stations all over Europe.
From 23rd June until 29th June, six concerts will follow in South Bohemian towns of Jindřichův Hradec (2 performances), Týn nad Vltavou, České Budějovice, Trhové Sviny and Žirovnice. Winners and laureates will show their skill to audiences in a large scale of venues such as castle, church, museum, house of culture and concert hall.

Last November, an international Jury headed by Mrs. Zuzana Růžičková, a famous Czech cemballo virtuoso, and consisting of experts from five countries achieved results on the backround of which young musicians from the above-mentioned countries are invited by Czech Radio, the Concertino Praga organizer, to spend an interesting week in the Czech Republic and to proove their talents on stage. The absolute winners come from the hosting country - Mr. Stanislav Lukš (violin) and Mr. Jakub Metelka (piano), two Prague Concervatory students. Apart from a Price of Helena Karásková, the competition's founder, they will be awarded a special price by EMCY.

During their stay in the Czech Republic, young winners and laureates (as well as our radio colleagues from winning countries) will meet, among others, the Lord Mayor of Prague, the Minister of Culture, Director General of Czech Radio and other VIPs.
