Finale 2022

9. září 2022

The finale of the Concertino Praga international music competition will take place under the auspices of the Dvořák Prague Festival for the third year in a row. This year, it will be held on Friday 16 September. Four young musicians from three countries will vie for the favour of the audience at the Rudolfinum, the listeners to Czech Radio and especially the international jury.

This year’s finalists in the Concertino Praga - Antonín Dvořák International Radio Competition for Young Musicians will perform for both the audience and the jury, which includes, for example, the guitarist Ivo Kahánek, the trumpeter Sergei Nakariakov or the violinist Václav Hudeček, on Friday 16 September. The four finalists are two musicians from Bulgaria, the violinist Diana Chausheva and the pianist Victor Vichev, the Italian trumpeter Filippo Lombardi and the Czech violinist Richard Kollert.

The finale evening will be unique, because it will consist of a total of five concertos for solo instrument and orchestra: works by Aram Khachaturian and Max Bruch for violin, Sergei Rachmaninov (no. 2) for piano and Joseph Haydn and Oskar Böhme for trumpet.

The finalists’ motivation is great: the competition winner will record their own CD under professional conditions at Czech Radio, while other prizes include valuable scholarships awarded by the Academy of Classical Music which the laureates can use to further their musical education or to purchase new instruments.

The concert series of the Concertina Praga South Bohemian Festival is a bonus for the finalists and selected other participants. All the concerts held in attractive historical concert halls in Český Krumlov, Bechyně, Třeboň and Jindřichův Hradec from 19 to 23 September will either be recorded or broadcast live by Czech Radio.
