Entries for the 56th year of the Concertino Praga - Antonín Dvořák International Radio Competition for Young Musicians have closed.
The ten-member international jury will assess the performances of 38 contestants from eighteen countries at the end of April. This year, the organisers have been pleased to receive entries from as far afield as Azerbaijan and South Korea in addition to the more traditional countries, such as Bulgaria, Romania, Austria, Germany and, of course, the Czech Republic.
The first round will be assessed remotely. This process will conclude with the jury members conducting an online meeting, where they will rank the anonymous recordings. The names and nationalities of the competitors will only be revealed to the jury once the points have been tallied and the results have been ascertained. The Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Prize and the Viktor Kalabis and Zuzana Růžičková Foundation Prize will also be awarded at the same time. The most successful Czech participant will receive the Karel Komárek Family Foundation Prize.
The four best finalists will advance into the final which will be held in the Rudolfinum, Prague on 16 September 2022. This will take the form of a concert held under the auspices of the Dvořák Prague International Music Competition. The finalists will be accompanied by the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Robert Jindra.
